American Global, one of the largest privately held construction brokers in the United States, is proud to announce the expansion of their global presence into Canada, with operations opening in the Greater Toronto area under the direction of Kent Peters, the newly appointed President of American Global of Canada, ULC.

Kent is a proven leader with more than 34 years’ experience delivering complex surety, performance security and credit products to some of the largest contractors working in Canada. At American Global, Kent will support clients operating in the Americas while developing American Global’s relationship with the Canadian contractor community, particularly those specializing in P3s.

Prior to joining American Global, Kent spent 12+ years as a Construction Surety and Risk Management executive, serving as National Director for a global broker where he created innovative performance security products for the growing P3 space and was instrumental in the promotion and acceptance of surety bonds in place of letters of credit. Kent was also responsible for ensuring that clients – whether local contractors or global multinationals -had the best access to markets, advice and services, something he will continue to do for American Global, while building a best-in-class Canadian team. Previously, Kent worked in a variety of roles for Export Development Canada (EDC).

Over the years, Kent has developed trusted relationships with key industry partners and possesses important knowledge of the area that will prove valuable for American Global clients in North America and abroad.
