David Marino, COO & Group President of American Global, was recently celebrated as the 2023 Honoree at the Maurer Foundation\u2019s annual Pink Diamond Gala. The gala, which serves as one of the Foundation\u2019s major fundraising events, was held on October 13th at the Garden City Hotel.<\/p>\n

As this year\u2019s honoree, David led fundraising efforts to benefit The Maurer Foundation, established by Dr. Virginia E. Maurer more than 30 years ago. The Foundation is dedicated to saving lives through breast health education, focusing on breast cancer prevention, risk reduction and healthy lifestyle choices.<\/p>\n

Their mission is one that hit close to home for Marino, whose wife, Karen, is herself, a breast cancer survivor. David\u2019s daughter, Kristina\u2014who presented the official award to her father\u2014also played a role in that story. It was she who urged her mother to further investigate the results of a recent mammogram, after attending a breast cancer education class at school, presented by The Maurer Foundation.<\/p>\n

The event was an overwhelming success, attended by nearly 300 guests including many family and friends of the honoree, as well as Maurer Foundation gala committee members, board members and supporters. Together, their collective efforts raised $341,000 for the organization.<\/p>\n

David remarked, \u201cIt was a terrific evening, made possible by the hard work of many. I am grateful for the generosity of clients, partners, colleagues, friends and family, who helped make the event a financial success to ensure that The Maurer Foundation can continue its important mission.\u201d<\/p>\n
