Senior Vice President
Issy Bustamante is the Insurance Senior Vice President of Florida operations for American Global. In her current role, Issy is responsible for client relationships and delivery of the company’s insurance product and services, while overseeing the Florida insurance team. With more than 19 years of extensive risk management and business operations experience, Issy specializes in the construction industry, managing complex risk financing and risk mitigation strategies for large clients and projects. She has led teams and client engagements for challenging assignments in all aspects of insurance needs for owner/developers, contractors and public entities, and offers expertise in several areas including coverage analysis, risk transfer, risk reduction strategies, loss sensitive programs and wrap-up insurance plans. Prior to joining American Global, Issy worked as a construction casualty broker where she placed intricate and comprehensive casualty programs tailored to the unique risks of construction clients, as well as a construction claims team leader for large clients and megaprojects in the Northeast. Proud to be named one of Business Insurance’s ‘Women to Watch’ in 2022, Issy has also been recognized previously for her work in the industry. In 2018, she earned a Business Insurance Break Out Award, given to future leaders of the insurance and risk management sector from across the United States. And, in 2012, she was honored with the Helen M. Garvin Award for Enterprising Achiever. for making a positive impact and supporting women in the industry. Issy earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from CUNY Queens College. She is also a licensed Property and Casualty Broker and holds the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation.
