American Global is excited to announce that Shawn Henn has joined American Global as Vice President-Risk Engineering Services in Canada. Shawn will further expand our capabilities in the region, helping clients reduce risk by shaping and implementing comprehensive health & safety and risk management strategies across the organization, from the board room to the jobsite.
Shawn is a seasoned professional with impressive credentials and more than 25 years’ experience in risk mitigation and loss prevention. He has a proven track record of developing a variety of successful programs that increase efficiencies while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, production, and quality. As a former Red Seal sheet metal journeyman, Shawn also brings a valuable ’insider’ perspective, clearly understanding the true needs and challenges facing construction industry clients today. With hands-on experience and keen analytical abilities, Shawn examines historical and predictive indicators to assess challenges and offer innovative solutions.
Prior to joining American Global, Shawn worked as a Health and Safety Consultant following his long career at Trotter and Morton Group of Companies, serving most recently as a Senior Corporate HSE, Risk & Loss Control Executive.

Shawn is an active member of many industry associations and holds the following designations: Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) US, Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC), Gold Seal Certificate (SCS) and National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO). He is also currently working toward his UK NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Shawn earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sandermoen School of Business at the University of Fredericton and a Certificate for Emerging Leaders from the Haskayane School of Business at the University of Calgary.
