Chris Westendorf is Vice President for American Global’s Midwest region, supporting our Chicago-based operations and extending our presence into Indiana. As an accomplished surety professional, Chris has a diverse background with vast experience that further expands our team’s capabilities. In his role, Chris is responsible for reviewing and analyzing contracts to help identify client needs and develop custom surety solutions, while continuing to cultivate strong relationships with both clients and carriers alike. Before joining American Global, Chris served as a Regional Vice President for Nationwide Insurance, working with many national contractors from startup companies to members of the ENR Top 400. Previously, Chris spent nearly 9 years with CNA Surety where he worked as an Underwriting Director and other roles, after launching his professional career with Hanover Insurance Group as a Contract Surety Underwriter. Chris is an active member of many Midwest organizations including CFMA, ICI and ISA, among others, and holds an AFSB designation. Chris earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration from Butler University in Indianapolis.
