American Global is pleased to welcome Chris Westendorf, MBA, AFSB, as the newest member of our team. Chris will serve as Vice President of Surety, supporting our Chicago-based operations, while expanding capabilities and further extending our Midwest presence into Indiana.
An accomplished surety professional, Chris brings a diverse background and vast experience to the team. In his career, Chris has worked with national contractors ranging from startup companies to those in the ENR Top 400. As a former Regional Vice President for Nationwide Insurance, Chris first introduced Nationwide’s surety operations into Indiana, and assisted expanding the company into Illinois. Prior to his career at Nationwide, Chris was an Underwriting Director for CNA Surety where he managed a team of employees, while overseeing the largest book of surety business in Indiana. Chris has had a successful career in the Midwest, which has included field and home office underwriting experience and management roles.
With a firm commitment to continued professional development, Chris is also an active member of many Midwest construction and contractor-based organizations including CFMA, ICI, ISA and others, serving as Board Member of the Surety Association of Illinois from 2011-2013.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Butler University in Indiana. Chris also holds an AFSB certification.
