The board of directors of the mauer foundation.

February 20, 2024

David Marino, COO & Group President of American Global, was recently appointed to serve as the newest member of The Maurer Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Last year, David was celebrated as the 2023 Honoree at the annual Maurer Foundation Pink Diamond Gala, where he helped raise more than $340,000 for the organization’s mission, which is dedicated to saving lives through breast health education. David can personally attest to the profound impact these programs can have on families.

It was after one of the Foundation’s educational programs that David’s daughter asked her mother about recent mammogram results. Concerned by her response, Kristina urged her mother to investigate further, resulting in tests that confirmed a cancer diagnosis. However, thanks to their timely action, David’s wife is now cancer-free, but the importance of that classroom education will live on. It is why David is so committed to continuing his support for this organization that also focuses on breast cancer prevention, risk reduction and healthy lifestyle choices.

David said, “I am grateful and honored to join the board of an organization that does so much good for the community. My family’s story is only one example of how vital it is that we provide this type of education, particularly to our youth. Not only are they empowered personally with this knowledge, but they can save the lives of others by sharing what they’ve learned. I am excited to lend my time and talents to support their work.”

Dr. Virginia Maurer added, “We are delighted to have David Marino join the Board of Directors of The Maurer Foundation. David, his wife Karen, and their children exemplify our core belief – that breast health education can save lives. David brings a wealth of experience and expertise in his field and will be a tremendous asset to our Foundation.”
